There’s No Cheating in Baseball!

How can we just ignore the lengths that an entire baseball team went to to cheat? This wasn’t keeping a watchful eye on the catcher and hoping for a tell from the pitcher. This was cameras and willing participants throughout the team and coaching staff.

RUFKM?

Catching up…

Hey! I have missed you. I have come to care about you; feel like I owe you updates and thoughts and loves and challenges and frustrations and celebrations. Except I also feel like I must add good punctuation, grammar and be free of typos, so it’s not the easy going relationship I sometimes think it should be. LOL or Ha Ha Ha or whatever…

‘Tis the Season…Dang it!

Who knew celebrating could be hard. I have been sick, busy and desperately trying to find my holiday spirit.

I’m happy. I am grateful. I am having a very good life, actually. I just am not excited about the holidays. I want to find a neutral place to be able to enjoy the music, decorating, gift-ing, food and people. Oh my dear Lord, the people. There are so many of them. No offense, of course.

Well that was certainly a full month, no?

October 2019…WOW!

My belief is impeachable offenses are easy to define, point out and prosecute.

Asking a vulnerable government, that is dependent upon us for aid vital to their very existence, for help finding dirt on a political opponent during an election cycle is an impeachable offense. Those are facts. Members of this administration’s staff have admitted that we were asking for a quid pro quo – because that is how deals get done; that is how grown-ups facilitate the growth of new nations or new relationships. And just that quickly, the spirit of the law is gone and another ruse has been fed to the American people.

Hidden Heroes Everywhere

My friend Karee is a rockstar in her own right. Kind, loving, funny – mother of 9 and military mom x5. After her daughter, Captain Kimmy Fix, served a year in Afghanistan, she was deployed to Italy. Military families know that life can change in an instant, but they drop their guard when their enlisted are moved out of a combat setting. So the call about Kimmy’s accident was that much more devastating.

This is a link to their story. It’s Caregiving at its finest; it’s an inspiring testament to Faith, Family and Friendship. None of us know, really know, what we would/could do if faced with catastrophic injuries. I hope that I would choose to show up the way Kimmy, Karee and her family does.

I invite you to watch this video with hope – and to identify the hidden areas of gratitude that can be so easily be overlooked, especially when we focus on our the voids in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving!

We have come a long way, but…

“Americans of our own time – minority and majority Americans alike – need the continued guidance that the Voting Rights Act provides. We have come a long way, but more needs to be done.”

Hard to believe we lost you when our country needs you so…and I know you did all you could. Thank you for your service and your passion. I hope to work toward the America you believed in.

“It’s Turkey Calling – Could you do me a favor though…?”

  • He pulled American troops from protecting a people who share American values and protected America lives.
  • He made space for the slaughter of those people, our allies.
  • He allowed Isis rebels and their families to escape.
  • He warned the country he had made the deal with not to do what the country was planning to do all along.

(I think on Law & Order they call that an Accessory After the Fact.)

My Friend’s In a Show

My friend is my age, she works harder than anyone I know, harder than I could at a company that nearly killed me (a job she helped me to get 5 years ago), she is a corporate project manager, professional singer, story-teller; an amazing mom, friend, mentor and tour guide – and she is still bringing it – everyday.

No Plans for the Future

WHAT on earth do you mean by that, dear blogger?

Recently I’ve heard two different people talk about their minds “grinding” obsessively about shit they cannot control. I love that word – grinding – it’s perfect.

The obsession of what could be, will be, or worse, should be will drive us mad. I tell people constantly that we have to let go of how things should be and accept how things are.

The F Word

I want to talk about feminism…

What it means… in the media…to me…to women, generally…to men, generally – and I would really love to hear from you.
