September?! WTF?

So…
…much has happened since I purchased my space from Bluehost/WordPress/any and all other vendors who have a hand in allowing for the existence of this blog, that I cannot get my head around it all.

Apparently it DOES take a village to bring a blog to life. Whatever.

In my mind, I had to get this site designed to accurately reflect my me-ness.  I had picked out the fonts and the pictures I wanted to associate with my blog overall  –  even have a photographer who has agreed that I can use any or all of the photos she posts on her own site without reference of any kind. Seriously, in the brave new world of social media as identity, who does that? (Wahoooooo  lucky lucky girl am I!!)  Of course I will tell you her name is Debi Adams, dear high school friend and resident of Dallas, Texas – for more of her stuff, literally watch this space.

I have spent a part of each day since mid-June thinking, “if I was blogging today I would definitely write about this!” – but I wasn’t blogging, because the blog site/format wasn’t designed.

…I reached out to friends and asked for help.  One poor soul stepped up even though he, admittedly, didn’t know how much help he could be  ⇒SHOUT OUT TO ERIC!!⇐  and he agreed to do it for lunch and hugs (and an extra F-bomb or two, but that’s another story for another time). Then there were funerals and conferences and redesigned work schedules and speech therapy and then Labor Day! WTF?

…here I am – suddenly realizing that the summer is over and I’ve not been holding up my end of the bargain with this blogging thing. Then I remembered it was my blog – and I can do whatever I want with it.  That may mean a mishmosh (SP?) of styles, questionable layout or site organization in the beginning, and/or starting all over again.  But at least I will be able to say,

Yes – I have started a blog. Thank you for asking.

This is very me – and what I consider to be the “logo” for In Gratitude and Grace.

Editor’s Note:  I am perplexed by all of my options regarding layout and formatting, and this is not the font I originally wanted, but this one, Trebuchet MS, is one I like enough, until I figure out how I can add the ones I really like or learn to love this one, blah blag blog.

and so it begins.

PS the unanswerable question for today: Where does the time go?
